Exmoor

With its wild open moorland, hidden wooden valleys and big skies, Exmoor is the perfect antidote to the summer crowds that invade Woolacombe during the peak summer months. However, what ever the time of year or weather, it’s always good to get away from the madding crowd and find some solitude and peace on ‘the roof’. From the heather-clad shoulders of Dunkery Beacon, to the five beautiful unspoilt waters to the north - Wier, Chalk, Badgery, Farley and Hoaroak, along with the beautiful valleys of the Barle and the Exe, Exmoor has many secrets and moods.

For photography pack a wide angle lens for the snowdrops and bluebells but also your biggest telephoto for the deer, the soaring buzzards and the ponies. The bogs can be desolate, so you will also need good boots.
